Podium alternatives for home service shops

Five tools a home service shop can weigh against Podium, with the plan prices we could read, where each one comes from, and the case where you keep your software and fix the missed calls instead.

Two phones side by side, one showing a text conversation

Podium suits a business that wants calls, texts, reviews and payments in one customer platform. Podium serves auto dealerships, home service companies, aesthetics and wellness practices, and retailers, and its home-services package bundles Larry for phone and text with dispatch, payments and reviews.

Shops usually look elsewhere for two reasons we can source. Podium asks you to request a quote instead of showing a price. And its default subscription term is 12 months, renewing for another 12 unless the order says otherwise. Our full side by side is on the Podium comparison page.

Prices and features checked October 2026. Plans and order terms can differ.

Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro is job software for home service shops. Its AI receptionist, CSR AI, answers chat, and phone answering is a paid add-on. It fits a shop that wants scheduling and customer contact in one place. Platform plans are $59, $149 and $299 a month, billed annually (checked October 2026). More on the Housecall Pro comparison page.

Jobber

Jobber is scheduling, quoting and invoicing software. Its AI Receptionist is a $29-a-month add-on on selected plans and covers calls and texts. It fits a shop that wants the job side and the customer side in one tool. Software plans run $49 to $499 a month on the monthly plans shown (checked October 2026). More on the Jobber comparison page.

ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is a platform for dispatch, billing and more. Its Virtual Agent handles calls and texts. It fits a bigger shop that runs the whole business in one system. The core software price is not published; Virtual Agent is $2.75 per voice call and $0.10 for SMS (checked October 2026). More on the ServiceTitan comparison page.

Weave

Weave lists two-way texting, phones and reviews. Its pricing page names three plans, Pro, Elite and Ultimate, each priced by quote, and says plans start from $199 a month without saying which plan that is (checked October 2026). It fits a shop that wants a messaging and phone system close to what Podium does, and is happy to ask for a quote.

NiceJob

NiceJob is narrower. Starter is $75 a month and Pro is $125 a month, with no contract (checked October 2026). Starter sends review requests by SMS and email. Pro adds rebooking reminders, referral campaigns and AI-written review replies. It fits a shop whose main need is reviews and repeat work, not a shared inbox.

Where SvarKlar fits

SvarKlar is not a replacement for job software, and it does not replace Podium's payments or dispatch. It answers calls, texts back callers you missed and replies to new leads, on top of whichever tool you keep, whether that is Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan or another. Other tasks, such as bookings or review asks, are included when listed in your written order.

So if the real problem is leads going cold while the crew is on a job, you may not need to switch software at all. Frederik sets it up and runs it himself, and the price is $295 a month. Setup free. Cancel any time. For a trade-specific look, see the plumbing hub.

Questions

Do I have to leave Podium to get one of these?

Not always. Some shops keep Podium for reviews and payments and add another tool for one job. Check your order first, because Podium's default term is 12 months and renews unless you give written notice at least 30 days before it ends.

Which of these show a price I can read?

Housecall Pro, Jobber and NiceJob show plan prices. ServiceTitan shows Virtual Agent per-call rates but asks for a quote on its core software. Weave shows a starting figure and asks for a quote. Weighing a different tool? See our Jobber alternatives, Housecall Pro alternatives and ServiceTitan alternatives guides.

Is job software the same thing as a messaging platform?

No. Job software runs scheduling, quotes and invoices. A messaging platform like Podium handles customer contact. Several tools above now offer both, so compare what each plan includes for your shop.

What if we only miss calls?

Then fixing the missed calls may cost less than a new platform. Start with what an AI receptionist is, then ask what your current tool already covers.

Whichever tool you land on, the leads still need an answer in seconds. SvarKlar is $295 a month, setup is free, and you can cancel any time. Book a call to get started.
